Whether you're developing new skills, working through life's challenges in therapy, or seeking a space for reflection and connection, group experiences offer perspectives that individual work alone cannot. At Avidus, each group is thoughtfully designed with a clear purpose. Some are educational. Some are therapeutic. Others create space for shared self-reflection and deep listening. All are grounded in contemporary psychological knowledge, ancient wisdom, and facilitated with care.

ACT for Wellbeing

A small 6-week therapist-led group for adults wanting to navigate life's challenges with greater flexibility, self-awareness and purpose.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioural therapy that focuses on psychological flexibility and valued, strengths-based engagement in life - both key factors in well-being and performance. It emphasises that psychological suffering and a lack of growth stem from psychological inflexibility, which encompasses emotional, cognitive, and attentional inflexibility, perspective taking failures, lack of chosen values, and an inability to engage in values-based actions. ACT helps clients overcome obstacles to living well by identifying and changing their relationship to thoughts, feelings, sensations, and urges rather than trying to eliminate or avoid them. It then encourages clients to commit to actions that enhance their lives.

Over six weeks you'll:

  • Learn practical skills from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

  • Explore common patterns that keep people feeling stuck.

  • Gain new perspectives through shared experiences with others.

  • Practise responding to difficult thoughts and emotions differently.

  • Clarify what matters most and take meaningful steps towards it.

  • Leave with practical tools to support ongoing wellbeing.

Location: Sydney's Inner West (Marrickville) on Gadigal Land.

Day / Time: TBA / 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Women's Circle

A series of 4 x monthly facilitated gatherings that make space for self-directed exploration of life's transitions, seasons and stories.

Not every experience of growth belongs in therapy.

The In-Between is a series of monthly women's circles offering time away from the pace of everyday life to slow down, reflect and reconnect with yourself and others.

Each gathering is centred around a carefully chosen theme, drawing on psychology, mindfulness, storytelling, nature and the wisdom that emerges through shared reflection and the skill of deep listening. Together, we create a welcoming space to listen intentionally, explore life's transitions and honour the experiences that shape us.

These circles are not therapy or support groups. They are facilitated community experiences that invite you to introspect with curiosity, presence and meaningful conversation in a respectful and confidential environment.

Each gathering may include...

  • Grounding ritual

  • Guided meditation

  • Journalling

  • Tea and connection

  • Music, poetry or storytelling

  • Shared reflection

  • Closing ritual

Whether you're seeking stillness, inspiration or simply a place to be alongside other women, these circles offer an opportunity to step out of the noise and into thoughtful connection.

Location: Bondi @ Hugh Bamford Reserve on Gadigal, Birrabirragal, and Bidiagal Land.

Day / Time: TBA / 6:30pm - 8:30pm
